SILAC and Tandem Mass Tag Protein Analysis
We offer two powerful and analytical solutions to analyze the role of the proteome in cell development and to understand the mechanisms of stem cell differentiation.
Stable isotope labeling with amino acids in cell culture (SILAC) and Tandem Mass Tag (TMT) technology are able to identify and quantify proteins from complex samples such as those found in stem cell cultures.
The SILAC Method uses in vivo metabolic incorporation of "heavy" 13C- or 15N-labeled amino acids into proteins followed by mass spectrometry (MS) analysis for accelerated comprehensive identification, characterization and quantitation of proteins.
Isobaric chemical tags are powerful tools that enable concurrent identification and quantitation of proteins in different samples using tandem mass spectrometry. They are small chemical molecules with identical structure that covalently attach to the free amino termini of lysine residues of peptides and proteins, thereby labeling various peptides in a given sample
Both methods are available as standalone sets or alternatively as optimized kits ready for the study of human mesenchymal or mouse embryonic stem cells.
