Thermo Scientific Single-Use Liquid Handling Systems for BioProcessing Applications
The choice between flexible and rigid solutions for the storage and handling of everything from media and buffers to valuable drug substance is a challenging consideration. There are a variety of materials, shapes and sizes offered in single-use disposable and re-usable formats that provide integrity, stability and assurance in addition to chemical resistance and durability.
There are a variety of materials, shapes, and sizes in single-use disposable formats from Thermo Scientific that provide integrity, stability, and assurance in addition to chemical resistance and durability. Thermo Scientific HyClone Labtainer bags effectively address small volume liquid handling needs in a flexible container. They range in size from 50mL to 50L. Labtainers are constructed of the animal derived component free CX5-14 film. They support storage down to -80°C. Thermo Scientific HyClone BioProcess Container (BPC) systems are available in a flexible 3-D format in sizes from 50L up to 1500L. These BPC systems are supported by outer containers designed to provide product integrity during shipping and handling.
Multiple bags can be difficult to lift, transport, and store when filled. The new Nalgene Bioprocess Bag Management System addresses this issue. Molded of a rigid polymer, the stackable, clamshell-like design provides a durable, protective barrier offering a combination of rigid and flexible systems; it is also designed to mate with commonly available BPCs including the HyClone Labtainers.
In addition to flexible, HyClone BPCs, Nalgene single-use, rigid containers are available in configurations ranging from vials to large carboys all manufactured from the same materials, enabling stability studies to be performed on a smaller, more economical scale.
