Process/Process Simulation

From the development of a polymer in the lab to the pilot plant, to online quality control in production and processing small quantities—our solutions span the complete life cycle of a polymer.

Processability

Material characterization products determine viscosity, elasticity, and temperature-dependent properties that influence production phenomena.

Extrusion, Mixing and Compounding

Use lab mixers, extruders and compounders to investigate melting, cross-linking and degradation behavior. Modular extruder barrels and screw design provide flexibility for complex processes. Determine the temperature profile, screw configuration, feeder and extruder set-up. Post extrusion systems, such as blown film, wire coating and sheet take-offs, give you the right tools for small-scale production and scale-up. Use capillary dies to test the rheological behavior under processing conditions.

Sample Preparation

The HAAKE* MiniJet micro-injection moulder produces specimens from only 5g of material which can be used for further tests, e.g., DMA, Tensile, Charpy, Rheology.

Lamination

Accurately measure layers, including the substrates and adhesives, which can improve uniformity and ensure adequate adhesion for structural integrity. Reduce costs by lowering raw material consumption and reducing waste. Depending on the application, full spectrum infra-red (FSIR), X-ray, Beta or Optical sensors can be used.
