Pesticides

Pesticides such as organophosphates, carbamates, organochlorine and pyrethroid are chemical compounds used for the mitigation, control or destruction of bugs or insects. They can have significant health effects when consumed.

Gas and liquid chromatography combined with mass spectrometry is a reliable means of identifying and quantifying pesticides in food. The Thermo Scientific TRACE GC Ultra equipped with an electron capture detector (ECD) offers ppt-level sensitivity for screening of organochlorine pesticides in foods, while the Thermo Scientific ITQ quadrupole ion trap offers extended MS/MS capabilities for enhanced confirmation and quantitation of pesticides in heavy matrices.

GC and LC coupled with the Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantum triple quadrupole mass spectrometer enable hundreds of multi-residue analysis for pesticides.

MS/MS methods and libraries have been developed for the Thermo Scientific ITQ Ion Trap and Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantum triple quadrupole mass spectrometer to analyze for hundreds of pesticides.
