Physical Analysis

Crucial parameters, such as the mechanical stability of your finished product, are directly related to the physical structure on the molecular level.

Molecular Weight and Molecular Weight Distribution

Flow anomalies in plastics production and the mechanical properties of the final product depend on the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of a polymer. Our rheometers allow for the extraction of both parameters from rheological data.

Purity and Crystallinity

The purity of a polymeric material is examined using FT-IR and Raman Spectroscopy. Raman is particularly sensitive to the crystallinity of the material. We offer a complete set of tools for quality control, analytical services and research.

Density

Real-time physical analysis of reactor feed gases helps chemical plants control the density and overall quality of polymers. Our process mass spectrometer measures and tracks polymer variations with greater precision than gas chromatographs.

Elemental Analysis

X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) instruments enable the analysis of various elements from F to U in polymers. High performance benchtop EDXRF and WDXRF instruments are available for rapid screening and high precision analysis of additives and contaminants in polymers from sub-ppm levels onwards. “Standardless” analysis is also possible on unknown materials.
