Melamine

Melamine is used in the manufacturing of plastics, flame retardants and other products. It has been used as a protein substitute by food and ingredient manufacturers and has been found primarily in milk and milk-based products.

For rapid screening and confirmation of melamine and its related compounds cyanuric acid, ammelide and ammeline, the Thermo Scientific Trace GC Ultra with the Thermo Scientific ITQ Ion Trap mass spectrometer or the Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantum GC gives excellent results.

For rapid screening and confirmation of melamine and cyanuric acid without derivitization turn to the Thermo Scientific Accela high-speed LC system coupled with a TSQ Series LC-MS/MS.

Our equipment can perform all the necessary ELISA screens for melamine.
