Wear Resistance

The Thermo Scientific* HAAKE* MARS III rheometer in combination with the SER extension provides an excellent analysis of friction-related wear for different steps in the polymer processing chain.

Surface Elemental Analysis

Thermo Scientific* X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) instruments provide reliable and repeatable analysis of various elements from F to U in polymers. High performance benchtop EDXRF and WDXRF instruments are available for both rapid screening as well as for high precision analysis of additives and contaminants in polymers from sub-ppm levels onwards. “Standardless” analysis is also possible on totally unknown materials.

Spectroscopy

Spectroscopy provides excellent non-destructive analyses of polymer films and coatings on substrates. The FT-IR and Raman microscopy tools also give great analytical results for laminates and contamination, such as particles or inclusions.

Monitor polymer surfaces for coating uniformity, contaminants and thickness by Near Infrared spectroscopy.
