Iodine Labeling Reagents for Proteins

Tyrosine addition compounds and tyrosyl activation vessels that replace chloramine T oxidation reagents to efficiently label proteins and other molecules with radioactive iodine (usually 125I), a process called iodination, for use as tracers and probes.

Iodination has been replaced by other labeling techniques for many research applications. However, when it is still necessary, it's comforting to know you can obtain the essential reagents from us.

Thermo Scientific* Pierce Sulfo-SHPP (water-soluble Bolton-Hunter Reagent) conjugates tyrosine-like functional groups to primary amines to increase the number of tyrosyl groups that can be iodinated by iodine-125 labeling procedures.
