The Thermo Scientific IRIS 4100 Mid-IR Laser-Based CO2 Analyzer uses state-of-the-art mid-infrared laser absorption spectroscopy to measure carbon dioxide. Using our unique Difference Frequency Generation (DFG) technology, the IRIS 4100 analyzer is capable of providing measurements in the middle-infrared spectral region. DFG technology is based on the principle of two telecom laser sources that are combined into a single optical fiber. The combined lasers are then focused into a "non-linear" Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate (PPLN) crystal. The signal is then transferred through an optical cell.
