21Plus! For Nonwovens

Thermo Scientific* 21Plus! measurement and control system for nonwovens measures the basis weight or thickness of nonwoven materials as well as binder or super absorbance polymer (SAP) content, specifically for hygenic applications.
With its advanced sensor technology, the system provides accurate and reliable measurement, resulting in reduced scrap and increased productivity. Whether the process is spunbond, airlaid, or carded, users have the tools to deliver higher quality products to the end markets, while minimizing product costs.
 
 
 
 
 
This measurement and control system measures basis weight or thickness of nonwoven materials, specifically for hygienic applications, accurately and reliably. The 21Plus! provides data to improve product quality, process efficiency and raw material savings.

The Thermo Scientific 21Plus! system consists of a scanner, sensor and control system tailored to each application.

Hygienic applications:

  • Mark III scanner
  • PMS Beta or FSIR (full spectrum infrared) sensor
  • Binder and Moisture measurements; Line Speed control
Operator Interfaces

Operator stations are PC-based and communicate with other system modules across an Ethernet LAN. A variety of configurations are available:

  • Desktop interface
  • LC450 console

Communication Capabilities

The 21Plus! provides powerful communication capabilities with industry-accepted OPC standards, allowing the sharing of product and process data with popular software packages for data acquisition, database building and quality analysis.
