Cellomics* Live Cell Reagents

Thermo Scientific* Cellomics Live Cell Stains are a set of tools for monitoring cell viability and cell morphology in live cells.
 
 
 
 
 
The hydrolysis of the non-fluorescent Cellomics Live Cell Stain Blue by intracellular esterases generates the strongly fluorescent hydrophilic Cellomics Live Cell Stain Blue that is well retained in the cell cytoplasm. The esterase activity is proportional to the number of viable cells, and the fluorescence intensity generated from the esterase-catalyzed hydrolysis of the stains can also be used to measure the cell number.

  • Non-fluorescent dye becomes strongly fluorescent upon entering live cells
  • Hydrophobic compound easily permeates intact live cells
  • Blue fluorescence is ideal for multiplexing with other fluorescence staining of cells
  • Readily adapted for high throughput assays in a wide variety of fluorescence platforms such as microplate assays, immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry
  • Useful for a variety of studies, including cell adhesion, chemotaxis, multidrug resistance, cell viability, apoptosis and cytotoxicity
  • Suitable for proliferating and non-proliferating cells, and can be used for both suspension and adherent cells
