Thermo Scientific AssayAssure is a revolutionary and flexible preservative for collecting urine specimens. The AssayAssure chemistry improves the collection, transport and storage of bacterial, viral and  other biological targets with greater sensitivity and specificity than the current sample collection methods using preservatives.

Protection

  • Prolongs cell viability by slowing cellular metabolism and providing thermal protection
  • Maintains Bacteriostasis by inhibiting the reproduction and lysis of bacteria whose enzymes are highly destructive of genetic targets
  • Improves amplification of DNA and RNA by neutralizing inhibitory substances
  • Minimizes freeze/thaw damage to nucleic acids
  • Formulated for accurate qPCR and PCR analysis

Preservation

  • Acts like a "chemical refrigerator" by preserving specimens without refrigeration or freezing from 7 to 45 days (E. Coli and Shigella up to 45 days and other bacteria up to 35 days)
  • Suppresses nuclease and protease activity helping to preserve the most labile nucleic acid targets
  • Removes assay interference by neutralizing enzymes and proteins that inhibit amplification
  • Normalizes sample pH to enhance preservation of targets during transport and storage

Stabilization

  • Improves cold chain logistics and costs by eliminating need for refrigeration and freezing sample
  • Platform agnostic allows for compatibility with qPCR, PCR, Microarrays, Flow Cytometry and Culture
