Wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) analysis techniques are used to determine the elemental composition of a wide range of samples, both solids and liquids, with excellent resolution and precision. Sample preparation is quick and non-destructive. The ARL OPTIM'X provides these traditional advantages plus novel design features in a uniquely compact package:

  • Ultra Closely Coupled Optics (UCCO) technology provides equivalent performance to much higher-powered systems
  • The innovative SmartGonio compact goniometer covers all elements from fluorine (F) to uranium (U) in sequential mode
  • Ideal WDXRF for routine yet demanding applications
  • Fast analysis of solids, liquids and loose powders with excellent spectral resolution
  • No water cooling or gas supply required (most configurations)
Ease of Ownership

  • Reduced dependence on auxiliary equipment
  • No internal or external water cooling required
  • Can be configured to work without external detector gas
  • Robust, reliable and compact design
  • Significantly lower cost per analysis vs. high-power systems
  • Small footprint
Goniometer and Multichromators

  • Can be configured with a series of Multichromators* for simultaneous analysisand/or with a SmartGonio* with 3 crystals for sequential analysis and flexibility
  • Two fixed monochromator channels for specific elements can be fitted alongside the SmartGonio to reduce analysis time
  • When speed of analysis is critical, a series of up to eight fixed channels can be selected in a simultaneous configuration

Compatible with: Thermo Scientific PetroilQuant pre-calibration program for petroleum liquids

Recommended for:
  • Analysis of sulfur (S) and other elements in petroleum products and lubricants, fully compliant with ASTM, ISO and other industrial WDXRF norms
  • Major and minor oxides in raw materials such as limestone, sand, bauxite, ceramics, refractories, slags and sinters
  • Major and trace elements and contaminants in food and chemical products
