HyClone* HyQ*-RS Reduced Serum Media

Thermo Scientific* HyClone HyQ-RS Reduced Serum Media are nutritionally enhanced versions of classical media requiring a lower concentration of serum supplementation.
High yield cultures begin with high quality media. In order to maintain these standards, all HyClone products as well as rea material components must pass strict Quality Control testing to confirm the appropriate level of quality. Each raw material has a specification document describing the product, the required grade or purity, the source, and the criteria for acceptance on incoming inspection. We can determine which (if any) ingredients in a medium formulation are of animal origin or, if they have come in contact with animal derived materials in manufacture.

Developed through Metabolic Pathway Design to support superior performance and increased process yields of multiple cell culture platforms. Serum-free media (SFM) have been designed to provide a consistent nutrient supply without the need for serum prescreening.

  • Reduce FBS supplementation rate to 2 to 4% for most cell culture applications
  • Suitable for a wide variety of cell types normally used with standard classical formulations
  • Maintain cell performance while reducing serum supplementation by up to 80%
