Pascal 240 Porosimeter
Thermo Scientific* Pascal 240 is a medium pressure mercury intrusion porosimeter. It takes over the porosity experiment after the low pressure test is done by the Pascal 140. Pascal 240 runs experiments from atmospheric pressure up to 200 MPa thus characterizing materials with a porosity ranging from 0.0074++ upto 15++ pore dimension.
The Pascal 240 is the versatile, medium-pressure porosimeter module. Its large autoclave can allocate small and large volume sample holders thus it is particularly suitable for testing high porosity samples or heterogeneous materials. It is mainly addressed to soil and rocks investigations, building materials (cements, concrete, bricks and tiles), healthcare (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals) just to mention the most common fields and, in any case, for all those samples showing pores larger than 0.0074µ.
Alert: The Pascal 240 uses mercury as intrusion liquid. Mercury is not supplied by Thermo Fisher Scientific. Mercury is a hazardous material thus should be handled with the same care that any other hazardous laboratory chemical is given. It is strongly recommended to check and conform to specific regulations and recommendations for the use of mercury for each country.
