iuvo* Chemotaxis Assay Plate

Study chemotaxis or neutrophil migration toward a chemical gradient using Thermo Scientific* iuvo Chemotaxis Assay Plate, with a unique channel design to create a chemical gradient.

The iuvo Chemotaxis plate is optimized for measuring cell migration in the presence of a chemoattractant. Polymorphonuclear cells, such as neutrophils are the most common cell type studied as neutrophil migration mimics inflammation in vivo. Each plate can test up to 96 samples, is constructed as a single piece with no filters or membranes and are compliant with the SBS/ANSI standard for microplates. A chemical gradient is formed at one end of the microchannel and remains stable for several hours. Microscopic imaging of cell movement into the gradient region provides quantitative data on the number of cells migrating and distance traveled. The iuvo Chemotaxis plate is compatible with Thermo Scientific ArrayScan* HCA readers, Thermo Scientific CellInsight* NXT HCS Reader, as well as automated microscopes.

  • Productivity — Use High Content Analysis platforms to automate cumbersome manual chemotaxis assays
  • Compatibility — Fully compatible with automated liquid handling systems
  • Efficient Reagent Use — Less than 12,000 cells required per data point
Includes: Each unit contains 1 plate with 96 microchannels
The iuvo Chemotaxis plate creates a chemical gradient for up to 96 cell samples per plate. Each sample contains a port to add a chemoatrractant and a port to add cells. The region wherein the chemical gradient is created is imaged and the number of cells migrated into this region is measured. The gradient can be maintained for up to 3 hr. and the distance a cell migrates into the region over time can also deliver useful information. Cells are fluorescently stained to facilitate data acquisition and analysis. All liquid handling steps can be carried out with hand-held pipettors or automated liquid handling robotics.
