CB Omni* CrossBelt Online Elemental Analyzer

The Thermo Scientific* CB Omni crossbelt analyzer mounts directly on an existing conveyor belt and provides a minute-by-minute elemental analysis of an entire raw material stream for quality control purposes.
The CB Omni cement analyzer is a Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA) system that analyzes the entire material stream and is not subject to errors and costs associated with material sampling.
 
 
 
 
 
The CB Omni is designed to integrate into either a new or an existing conveyor belt line and analyze, in real time, the composition of raw materials being transported by conveyor belt.

Stockpile Management

One of the most popular uses of crossbelt online analysis systems is to monitor and control stockpile chemistry to meet quality targets, thus ensuring smooth kiln operation and providing flexibility in quarry operations. Whether the stockpile is longitudinal or circular, the CB Omni allows the cement producer to achieve consistent stockpiles, with minimal variations within and between piles. For stockpile management, the CB Omni system can be coupled with process control software to monitor and control the chemistry of the pre-blending stockpiles.

Raw Mix Proportioning Control

A primary determinant of kiln efficiency is the quality and uniformity of the raw material feed ("kiln feed" or "raw meal"). Maintaining kiln feed at quality specification with minimal deviation is a function of how precise, accurate and quickly the raw mix proportioning circuit can be controlled. Located downstream of the last raw mix component addition, a CB Omni system provides the precise control needed to minimize raw mix variability and keep it at quality specification while at the same time minimizing raw material costs and satisfying multiple quality control targets.
