RM 320 Full Spectrum Infrared Coating Gauge

Thermo Scientific* RM 320 full spectrum infrared coating weight gauge is highly sophisticated, measuring coating thickness for thin and ultra-thin coatings on metal strip using NIR full spectrum analysis.
This system is a true on-line scanning spectrometer, simultaneously capturing the entire Near-IR spectral signature and is ideal for paint coating lines that produce a wide variety of coil coated products.

  • Extendable, ethernet-based system architecture, powerful electronics
  • Central control of the gauges via one operator station
  • System operation via touch control screen or keyboard
  • Single beam or O-frame scanners available
  • FSIR measuring heads in compact design
  • Calibration/Laboratory gauge can be supplied for off-line measurement of new paint compositions to adjust the online coating weight gauge
  • Ethernet based or serial interface based communication protocols with customized data content

Recommended for:
  • Paint (e.g. PA, PET, PVDC), primer and organic coatings applied to steel, galvanized steel and aluminum substrates
  • Weldable primer coatings with zinc particles applied to chromated or galvanized steel
  • Ultra-thin coatings
  • Wet measurement directly after the coaters
  • Dry measurement made after drying ovens
  • Cromate-free coatings for corrosion protection
