RM 115 Laboratory Coating Weight Gauge

Thermo Scientific* RM 115 Laboratory coating weight gauge provides a precise, fast, non-contact and non-destructive coating weight measurement of metal coatings applied to steel strips.
This gauge is suitable for a range of coating applications and uses well established X-ray fluorescence techniques to provide accurate off-line sample measurements without costly and lengthy chemical analysis. Highly reliable and easy-to-own, the RM 115 optimizes galvanization processes while increasing raw materials savings and improving product quality and uniformity.
 
 
 
 
 
  • Comparisons with on-line gauges are possible without disturbing the production process
  • Sample size, measuring spot and measurement geometry are adapted to the conditions of the on-line gauges
  • The scanning feature allows for precise measurement of the topology of the metal coating over the surface of the inserted sample
  • By using a measuring head and electronics cabinet with the same design as for the on-line systems, parts of the laboratory gauge can be used as 'active spare parts'
  • A dedicated ethernet connection is used between the operator's terminal and processing electronics in the gauge cabinet
  • Interlocking safety circuits protect the operator when opening of the gauge cabinet or opening of the sample drawer
  • Compact design of the laboratory gauge
  • Operation and display of the measured values on the user friendly operator's terminal
  • All radiation is contained inside the gauge cabinet during operation
